Requirements for Substitute Teaching in District Five Schools
Individuals interested in substitute teaching must possess a high school diploma, be at least 21 years of age, and complete the following requirements:
· Complete an application
· Complete and submit all paperwork
· Submit documentation of a negative tuberculosis test from a medical doctor or a health department
· Submit proof of attendance for OSHA (bloodborne pathogens training) within the past three years (this training is provided if necessary)
· Attend Substitute Teacher Training as scheduled by the Personnel Department
All persons who submit an application for substitute teaching are subject to a SLED background check and a Department of Social Services check.
No one will be added to the available substitute teacher list until all materials are submitted and all checks have been satisfactorily completed.
