Longtime District Five administrator, Sherri Yarborough, is being recognized as one of the top career and technical administrators in the country! Yarborough, who has been Director of the R.D. Anderson Applied Technology Center since 2004, has been named the 2016 Region II Administrator of the Year by the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE). The award recognizes career and technical education administrators, program specialists, and other CTE personnel who have made significant contributions toward innovative, unique and effective career and technical programs.
Yarborough, who has been involved in CTE for over 30 years, has led R.D. Anderson through a major expansion, and enrollment increase that has boosted their student population by over 200%. She has written and received grants that have brought the center over $200,000 for new technology and programs.
Yarborough is now one of 5 finalists nationwide for the title of national Administrator of the Year. The award will be announced at the ACTE Awards Banquet on November 30 in Las Vegas.
