Due to the potential impact from Hurricane Helene, Friday, September 27, will be an e-Learning day for all District Five students and staff. All schools and buildings will be closed on Friday, September 27. School will continue as normal on Thursday, September 26.
Please note: all after school programs and activities have also been canceled for Thursday and Friday.
The National Weather Service is forecasting strong winds, flooding and severe conditions for our area, leading to potential power outages Thursday night into Friday morning. The seriousness of this forecast makes it simply unsafe for our buses, student drivers or families to travel. South Carolina bus regulations restrict the operation of school buses if sustained winds reach 30mph or gusts of up to 40mph.
Teachers will be in touch with students regarding any assignments that should be completed.
Should conditions change and impact school for Thursday, we will communicate that information as soon as possible.
