Spartanburg District Five officially broke ground on Tyger River Elementary School on October 21, 2022. Preliminary construction on the campus, which is located off Highway 29 in Duncan, began in September of 2022. The 118,000 square foot school is built to house students in Kindergarten - 5th grade.

Built with a focus on safety and energy conservation, Tyger River features state of the art technology and collaborative learning spaces for students and teachers.

Construction of Tyger River Elementary School is scheduled to finish in July 2024, and the school will officially open its doors to students and staff in August 2024, kicking off the 2024-25 school year.
