Limited School Choice

Spartanburg District Five School's Limited School Choice is a program that attempts to provide parents/legal guardians that are legal residents of Spartanburg District Five with the means to enroll their children in a specific school based on an identified need.  Choice requests will be granted based on mitigating circumstances and the enrollment capacity of the requested school.

Limited School Choice Process For 2024-25 School Year

THE LIMITED SCHOOL CHOICE APPLICATION WINDOW FOR THE 2024-25 SCHOOL YEAR IS NOW CLOSED.

Spartanburg District Five Schools' Limited School Choice program is an ONLINE ONLY process.   Due to the opening of new schools and new attendance lines that will take effect in the 2024-25 school year, Limited School Choice for 2024-25 will be open from October 2- November 21, 2023. 2024-25 Limited School Choice and Out of District request forms will be accessible on this site (www.spart5.net) beginning Tuesday, October 2.  Parents and guardians are encouraged to review all information carefully regarding procedures for both Limited School Choice and Out of District requests.

  • All students, whether currently on school choice or new to the process, MUST SUBMIT an application during the

    2024-25 school year. If you are requesting school choice, you MUST APPLY.

  • For all students currently enrolled in District Five from out of district, you MUST SUBMIT A NEW OUT OF DISTRICT APPLICATION. This includes out of district students who are remaining in the same school for 2024-25. ALL OUT OF DISTRICT STUDENTS, new and existing, MUST APPLY.

  • All out of district students must continue to obtain a release from their home school district. Releases can be emailed to Saterria Broomfield in the Spartanburg District Five district office.

Deadline

In order to best plan for the 2024-25 school year, requests for Limited School Choice and Out of District placement MUST be received BEFORE END OF DAY ON NOVEMBER 21, 2023.  Applicants must adhere to this deadline.  Parents/guardians will receive a written response letter in the mail no later than January 15, 2024.
