The 2024-2025 school year will see a lot of exciting changes for District Five including the Transportation Department.

With the addition of new schools, the changing of attendance zones and the school level changes -- the Transportation Department took a long look at the current transportation and various models throughout the nation.

Starting August 2024 the Transportation Department will be moving to a Two-Tier System of Transportation in hopes of relieving overcrowding and meeting the increasing demand for student transportation.

The Two-Tier System is reflective of how we are currently transporting in the afternoons with Elementary students and Middle/High students being separated onto different runs.

The 2024-2025 school year will have the a.m. Regular Route buses picking up elementary students only on their first runs to deliver to their prospective schools. Once the Elementary students are delivered to schools the buses will return to their service area to pick up the middle and high students for delivery to their prospective schools. The same process will be repeated in the p.m.

Our Department has and will continue to work diligently to try to make this change over as smooth as possible and provide as much information about the changes for our District Five families.
