We had our first ever FCA meeting today! We had a great turnout and Pastor Chandler Davis from Church at the Mill spoke to our students. Join us next week on Wednesday at See You at the Pole at 7:30!

Mrs. Ohler's 6th grade music class combined rhythm reading, performance, and composition today using boomwhackers! Groups assigned rhythms to each scale note, practiced and performed, then they were able to arrange the notes and rhythms however they wanted to create their own song. So much fun!

Ms. Scherer’s Fundamentals of Computing classes are learning how to create shapes & graphics using JavaScript programming language! Today they used their knowledge on JavaScript & critical thinking skills to create a graphic of the Flag of the Netherlands.

Students in Ms. Loving's class had some special visitors on Friday! They had a great time learning with them and showing them what they've been doing in their classroom lately.
Students in Mrs. Bo's ELA class completed a silent gallery walk to interpret pictures and then discussed the different perspectives from each person’s point of view.
Students in Mrs. Harper's English class are practicing inquiry and researching skills by creating a Hurricane Survival Guide after reading the short story "The Banana Tree" where the main character gets stuck in a hurricane.

News from our Athletic Department!
Students in 6th grade social studies became scribes today and learned how to write in the ancient form of Sumerian cuneiform writing from 3500 BCE! They practiced in their notebooks and then used clay and a "stylus" to write their names or initials. Officer Moreno even got in on the fun!
8th Grade drops a game to Gable. Kaiden Brooks scores the first TD in school history! The wolves look to bounce back next week against Rainbow Lake Middle School. 7th Grade plays at home on Wednesday and 8th grade plays @ Rainbow Lake on Thursday. Go Wolves!
Our ACMS Student Council will be having a canned food drive for Middle Tyger Community Center from Monday Sept. 16th through Sept. 26th. Points will be awarded to each house for the amount of cans that are brought in. The winners will be announced at our Pep rally on Sept. 26th! Thank you in advance to all families for helping to make this event a success!
