Our sixth grade science classes have been learning about Thermal Energy🔥 They've worked hard to build and create 🐧🏠 Penguin houses using their knowledge of conductors and insulators. 🧶🥄 Mrs. Mitchell's class can be seen below creating the houses then testing them out and to see who's house "SAVED" the ice cube penguin by not allowing it to melt. 🧊Check out their great work below. ⬇️

Our students and staff showed out today for “Kidz in Lids!” project for the Children's Cancer Partners of the Carolinas🧢 Our school raised $489 today and we are so proud. 😌 All money will be sent to Kidz in Lids, who donates the money towards childhood cancer research.🎗️ #BeechSprings #KidzinLids

Our 6th graders have been learning about heat transfer and took their learning to the lab. 🧑🏼🔬👩🔬 They cooked popcorn using three different methods, then identified which method of transfer took place. 🔥 And to finish it off, they ate the popcorn. 🍿🍿 #BeechSprings

Mrs. Richards' class used the Writing Makerspace to "Make Writing". They compared Bruno's feelings and the mood of the story The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, using the items purchased with her Teacher Forum grant funds. She had her students choose items that would best display their depiction of chapter 2 of the story, which contrasts the two living situations when he has to move and make note of why they chose those specific items. 📚🧵
