We are thrilled to announce that River Ridge has been recognized as a Reading Culture Trailblazer school by Beanstack. The award is granted to schools that gain over 75% participation in Beanstack each school year. Our school has achieved this milestone, and Beanstack believes we’re using the program effectively to build a culture of reading in our school community. Thanks to everyone for their tremendous support of this new program!

Field Day fun is happening next week! Please check bookbags as more information is headed home to families this week with students. Here are the dates to help you plan ahead to ensure your student has athletic shoes, a change of clothes, and a towel for their field day.

Spartanburg District Five schools will observe an eLearning day on Monday, April 8, due to the solar eclipse occurring that day. The decision was made after careful thought and consideration by District Five leaders, along with leadership of all Spartanburg County school districts.
The eclipse, which should last several hours, is expected to occur during afternoon dismissal times, which could potentially pose a safety risk to both students and staff. Furthermore, district leadership does not believe it is safe for school buses or student drivers to be on the roads during the height of the event.
Athletic and afterschool activities will be allowed on Monday, April 8, but only after 5:00 PM, once the eclipse has passed.

Just a reminder! No school for students tomorrow, March 15, 2024.

Congratulations to Yana Tsvyd, Aurora DeJesus, and Chase Ripple! Their artwork was chosen to represent River Ridge Elementary at the Spartanburg County Youth Art Month Exhibit at the Chapman Cultural Center in Spartanburg during the month of March.

Just a reminder that our Schoolwide Book Character Day is Friday. Students are invited to dress as their favorite character from a book they’ve read! Costumes should not include masks and should be school appropriate. We will celebrate with a parade for each grade level!
