Vocabulary Parade

On Friday, March 7, the Terriers celebrated the last day of "Read Across America Week" with our first Vocabulary Parade! This fun event allowed students to showcase their creativity and love for words. The parade, which took place outside with all grade levels in attendance, featured students from all grade levels dressed as their favorite vocabulary words, transforming the area into a vibrant display of language.

Vocabulary Parade

Each grade level had their own unique theme for vocabulary words. Our Pre-K and Kindergarten students focused on rhyming words, our first graders focused on compound words, our second graders focused on antonyms, our third graders focused on shades of meaning, our fourth graders focused on idioms , and our fifth graders focused on synonyms.

Students spent the week preparing for the event, researching words, creating costumes, and practicing their presentations. Each participant proudly displayed their chosen word on a sign and explained its meaning to classmates and parents.

Vocabulary Parade

Our first Vocabulary Parade was a huge success, leaving students excited to continue their journey of learning new words and expanding their vocabulary. We are so excited to continue celebrating our love for literacy at TRE!
