🎨Making Old School, Look New School🔨 Check out this new art installation in the lobby of BFA! Does it look familiar? That's because it is made out of the old BFA gym floor that was salvaged after last year's gym flood. Art Teacher Megan Parlow, Guidance Counselor Tracy Woodson and USC Upstate Student Teacher Chloe Fecht, spent this past Friday's teacher workday carefully crafting this wonderful art piece and piece of BFA (and D.R. Hill) history! Check it out next time you're visiting!

The Byrnes Rebels are really dominating the courts and fields lately! The latest victory comes from the ⚽️Girls Soccer Teams⚽️ where both JV and Varsity won their matches last night! Way to go ladies! 🥇

🏀Go Runnin' Rebels Basketball🏀 Today the Byrnes Basketball Team is headed off to 🏆The State Championship Game 🏆 Students and staff took a brain break from class to go outside and cheer on the team as they passed by on the bus! Gotta love that school spirit! Good luck guys!

Boo Grams will be $1 or $2 (depending on the candy type you choose), and they will be handed out on Valentine's Day! He may be a voice of authority at BFA and always reminding you to "get to class" or "make sure that ID is on" but Mr. Maus is still a fan favorite with our students! It is not often that you see an assistant principal hanging out with the students at lunch! 😂

We want to let you know that out of an abundance of caution, Tuesday, January 9, will be an e-Learning day for all District Five students and staff. The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Spartanburg County and the upstate due to strong storms that are due to hit our area throughout the day tomorrow. Heavy rainfall and winds are due to hit the Upstate before or near school dismissal times Tuesday, making it too dangerous for our buses, student drivers or families to travel. The state of South Carolina restricts school bus travel if sustained winds hit 30 mph or gusts exceed 40 mph. We will be communicating this message to our parents and families very shortly. All after school activities and practices will also be canceled for Tuesday. Thank you for your understanding and support, as safety is always our top priority in District Five!

Don't sound the alarms for this one, because these 🔥flames🔥 were part of an experiment in Mrs. Pickren's science class. Students tested different metallic solutions by dipping them into a flame, then determined what the metal was based on the color of the flame!

The Rebel Regiment are the 2023 SC 5A Upper State Champs 🏆 and overall Silver Medalist!!!🥈Of course here at BFA we are proud of the whole band, but we are partial to our freshman performers ! Way to go! 👏🏻

Yesterday at BFA was Career BINGO! Part of our 🧑🏼‍⚕️👮🏾‍♀️👷🏽‍♀️National Career Development Month 👩🏾‍🍳👨🏻‍🔧👩🏾‍💼 festivities, teachers wore T-shirts donated from dozens of local business, and students had to hunt them down to learn about the business and to get them to sign off on their bingo cards. What a fun way for students to learn about local businesses and what they do!
