While next school year may be months away, Spartanburg District Five parents and families can begin preparing now, as the 2024-25 school year calendar has just been released. The District Five Board of Trustees officially approved the calendar at its regularly scheduled board meeting Monday night. The approval allows District leaders and administrators to move forward in planning for the year, which will include the opening of two brand new schools and several newly constructed and renovated campuses.
The first day of school for students for the 2024-25 school year will be August 12, with the last day on May 23, 2025.
The winter holidays will begin on December 21 and last through January 3 for students. Spring Break is scheduled for April 7-11.
As the district has done the last several years, there will be two "Early Release Days" for students during the year, one scheduled for October 2, 2024, and the other on February 26, 2025. Early release days follow the district's "half day schedule" for students, and allow time for professional development time for teachers and staff.
