Here are the details:
Your child has shown interest in participating in an optional art contest for 5th grade students.
Students will create a piece of artwork that could go on the front cover of this year’s Berry Shoals Elementary School yearbook.
The theme of our school is: “Fly and Mighty.” The motto of our school is “Swarming to Bee Great!” Only artwork that relates to this theme and motto will be considered for the cover of the yearbook. Use the theme and motto to guide your artwork.
1 entry may be turned in per child
The artwork being entered must be no larger than 9x12 inches. Paper ideas: Watercolor paper, copy paper, poster board, or cardstock, just to name a few.
Any of the following materials may be used on the artwork: Magic markers, sharpie, crayons, colored pencils, paint (tempera, watercolor or acrylic), and/or pastels or collage (cutting and pasting).
There will be a 1st place winner and 2nd place winner.
The artwork of the 1st place winner will be used on the front cover of the 2024-2025 yearbook! The artwork of the 2nd place winner will be used on the back cover of the 2024-2025 yearbook!
Please write the following information in PENCIL on the back of the artwork that is being entered:
● Student’s first and last name
● Student’s grade level
● Student’s homeroom teacher
Deadline:
The deadline is Friday, October 4, 2024. The artwork is due back to Mrs. Seay by this date, or before. Entries turned in to Mrs. Seay after this date will not be entered into the contest.
