It’s always a great start to our day having Pastor Chandler from Church at the Mill speak to our FCA.

Mrs. Collins is putting her PD session on MagicSchool to use! Today she had students chat with the chatbot who was Denmark Vesey. They had to come up with 3 questions to ask him based on his life. Take a look at the video below!

Some of our panthers made it to national honor choir! 🎼

Grow with us! 8th graders plant experiments have finally sprouted and growth is being measured. They're especially curious to see if different liquids have a direct effect on the growth of their plants. We can't wait to check back in a few weeks to find out their results! 🌱

Check out these panthers amazing work! They created maps to demonstrate their knowledge of sectionalism in 8th grade history.

Round 2 of our PD sessions today was led by Geoff Turner. He led a session on EduProtocols and showed our staff how to create thick slides and use fast and furious protocols in their class. We think our students will love these! 💜

This past week our 6th grade students celebrated in the auxiliary gym with a decimal math challenge.

Our 7th graders celebrated Pi Day a little early thanks to generous donations from our panthers families. 🥧They've been studying circumference this week, and what better way to end it than with a celebration! 🎊🥳

We were thrilled to have Pastor Russ Chambers from 4 Points speak to our FCA today. He reminded us that we are never too young to do great things.

"More of this please." Mrs. Boggs classes worked on creating circles and finding the circumference, radius, diameter, and area outside yesterday.

It's officially class outside season 🤩🤩This week, some of our students enjoyed time in the sun while completing their work!

Abner creek academy students got to experience the arena today after achieving their Q3 goal! 💯

"Cover me in sunshine ☀️"
Panthers took advantage of the better weather today and enjoyed the sunshine outside at recess.

🥼Our 8th graders in Mrs. Landon and Mrs. McCrary's classes are conducting an experiment to compare how genetic factors and environmental factors affect the growth of an organism.🌱They chose to compare different brand seeds for their genetic experiment, and then chose to manipulate the type of liquid used to hydrate a plant and how frequent (to simulate a drought) for their environmental factor.☀️We can't wait to see their results! 🪴

Round 1️⃣ of March Madness for our Picklin' Panthers started today. Our 8th grade team will have a tournament bracket and crown a grade level champ🏆 to take on our 7th grade team at the end of the month. 🥒

Check out these panthers in their new shades they bought with IReady bucks. Students have had the opportunity to earn IReady buckets by completing lessons and getting their minutes in each week. They can cash them in for all types of prizes, snacks, hat day coupons and even a PE pass. 😍

Collaboration at its finest!🤝Mr. Turner came into Mrs. Landon's room to model an EduProtocol that he taught this past week at a PD session she attended. The students were able to take a topic they knew nothing about, and within 6 minutes increased their knowledge to score 93% accuracy. 🧠Fantastic job!

What happens when creativity meets science?🎲✨ Mrs. McCrary and Mrs. Landon’s classes took a chance and created their own BEAST! But then, CATASTROPHE hit! 🌍🌋🫨🥶 They had to adapt and mutate their creations to survive changing environments and predators. What a fun and engaging way to explore adaptations and reproductive success! 🐊

Let's also congratulate our first ever support employee for Beech Springs Middle School, Katie Wilbur. She helps out in all aspects in our school and has a huge impact on our day to day activities. Congratulations! ✨

Please join us in congratulating our first ever Beech Springs Middle School Teacher of the Year, Morgan Chiles. She goes above and beyond for her students and staff and exemplifies what it means to be an outstanding teacher! 🍎
