Ms. Mitchell took her classes outside today to enjoy some fresh air while they completed their assignments. What a great day for it! ☀️
Our afterschool choir went to the CPA today a received straight superior ratings from all judges, and a 96 in sight reading! Way to go Mrs. Shiflett and our Beech Springs Choir! 🎵
Mrs. Glenn and Ms. Mackey's classes enjoyed an Easter Egg hunt with eggs filled with ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies review questions in preparation for class tests and the SC Ready test at the end of the year. Later, on a second Easter Egg hunt, students found an egg with a sweet treat!
Congratulations to the 6th Grade Symphonic Band and Honors Band for their performances at Concert Performance Assessment this week!
The bands each performed 3 prepared pieces and sight read a piece they had never seen before for a panel of judges.
The Symphonic Band received a perfect score in sightreading and an overall rating of Excellent.
The Honors Band received a perfect score in sightreading and an overall rating of Superior.
🎧 "It's a new soundtrack, we could dance to this beat!" Our students who qualified for our Silent Beats Disco cashed in their reward today and participated in the silent beats party. Take a look below ⬇️
Mrs. Collins' classes celebrated the end of their Great Depression unit by having hobo stew! 🥣🥫
Ms. Grummel hosted another FUN Pokemon trading card event this afternoon. Students were able to barter with each other to get new cards. What an exciting event! ⚡️
Ms. Mitchell's classes heading to the lab this week. 🥼🥽 They discussed how the heating of the Earth's surface changes depending on the location and type. They observed temperature changes of sand and water to see which changes more. 🌎
Our home economics club met this past month and worked on their gardening skills. Our local friends the Backyard Chicken Farm and apiary graciously came and spoke with our students about bee keeping and gardening!
Mrs. West treated her students who met their IReady reading goal to ice cream sundaes and a movie last week! What a fun incentive! 🍨
What a sweet way to end our students week.🤩 Our beech book club students who finished the book for the third nine weeks, and were able to answer Mrs. Cantrell's questions, were treated to an ice cream social. 🍨
We don't know how it gets better than this.🤩 Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Tucker's reading small groups are excited about Spring. 🌸 Students read informational articles and then went on an egg hunt to find and answer questions about the passage. ❓📖 Lastly, they were able to decorate their own Easter egg. 🐣

Todays spirit day came with a 90s theme, and a humbling experience for our teachers, as our students are referring to the 90s as the "1900s" 🫠 The nostalgia is kicking in, from boy band shirts, butterfly clips, overalls, and denim on denim. We love to see it! ♥️
Mrs. Chiles class brought learning to life this past week. They had a needle in a haystack 🪡, hit the books📚 , social butterfly🦋 , head in the clouds☁️, wild goose chase🪿, broke my heart💔, time flies⏰, and in a pickle 🥒 to name a few.
