April is a month that slips by quickly. Here at FCMS, our teachers have been busy wrapping up instruction and helping our students master content as we approach SCREADY/EOC Testing in May. Our students have been busy being challenged with AVID activities, reading assignments, Socratic seminars, and showing us how smart they are every day. Some of the highlights from April include:
Spring Break happened. A much-needed week of rest to recharge for our last sprint through the 23-24 school year. Many students traveled and spent time with families…..and came back ready to get back to work.
Our Chorus earned Superior with Distinction at their CPA performance. Congratulations to Mrs. Ohler and all the students!
Our band continues to be recognized for its hard work. The band received an Outstanding Performance Award for the 2023-2024 school year.
Four FCMS students were accepted into the summer programs at the SC Governors School for the Arts and Humanities.
The FCMS Orchestra had 26 of its members participate in Solo and Ensemble. 22 of the participants received a rating of Superior and 4 received a rating of Excellent.
