Holiday cheer!

Super grateful for Chandler Davis today for bringing donuts and a good word to our FCA students this morning! #WeAreD5 #fcmscougars

FCMS had a canned food drive recently that also served as a competition among the 6 houses of our school. Our students brought in over 800 items that are being delivered to the Middle Tyger Community Center. Well done! 🥫🥫🥫#WeAreD5 #fcmscougars

FCMS’s AVID and reading classes visited D5 elementary schools today to spread some holiday cheer. They read holiday stories to the children and had a surprise visit from Santa! Students worked hard to prepare and we are so proud of them! 🌟 📚 🎄

Today our admin recognized several teachers for excellence in the work that they do. Congratulations to these outstanding staff members!

Congratulations to the FCMS Athletes of the Week! Jaiya Devoe is a team captain, has shown great leadership, and is a key defensive player for the girls basketball team. Kaiden Brooks has combined for 30 pts with numerous rebounds and great defense in the first 3 basketball games of the season. David Frutos was called on to fill in for a sick starter at the Broome Duals for wrestling and went 4-0. As a 7th grader playing on the 8th grade basketball team, Kellen Leverett is a leader who pushes his teammates to be better. Brinlee Carmichael is a cheerleader who is always ready to lead or follow, and she is always showing her Cougar Pride!

This week

FCMS Food Drive

Students recently raised money to donate to the SJWD Share the Water Fund. Dance coordinator Mary Moore and AVID Lead Christy Hewitt turned the Fall Silent Disco into a GLOW Dance. Students received glow bracelets for the dance, and AVID scholars sold additional items to raise money for the project after attending a field trip to the SJWD facilities the previous day. Students not only learned how our water is cleaned, but also that SJWD currently is the only water system in the state of SC that uses a state-of-the-art micro-filtration system, providing our community with some of the cleanest water available. It was a worthwhile project to contribute towards! #WeAreD5 #fcmscougars

Special recognition today goes to Kendra Brown and Langston Bryant, two FCMS student athletes who were recently honored as the Most Improved Varsity Swimmers for 2023-2024 BHS swim team. Outstanding achievement! #WeAreD5 #fcmscougars
