Congratulations to Mrs. Heather Cassidy on being named Tyger River Elementary's Distinguished Literacy Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Cassidy is a member of our fourth grade team and works hard to foster a love of reading among her students. 🐾📖🎉
Check out these kind words from her students:
"I love that she reads a lot of books and she teachers writing and I'm so excited to go to the movies for Wild Robot because she makes it fun."
"I love that she reads to us, it's my favorite thing about the day. She plans the funest plans like the Wild Robot Day and many more! She is one of my favorite teachers. And it was fun where she planned the write house activity. She is very helpful and she plays Blooket a lot with us! And I also like when she lets us read because I love reading."
Thank you for all of your hard work Mrs. Cassidy!

Mrs. Rosillo’s 2nd grade class had a blast exploring the science of matter with a tasty twist! The class enjoyed delicious ice cream floats while learning about solids, liquids, and gases. Who knew science could be this sweet?

Mrs. Mehaffey's first graders visited the library today for a STEM lesson! After reading "Creepy Carrots" by Aaron Reynolds, they drew plans and built their own fences to keep the creepy carrots in the garden!

Check out Ms. Lee and Ms. Ferrell's kindergarten class making apple cake in a crockpot!
The students added followed the recipe, added ingredients, and waited patiently to enjoy their sweet treat.

Ms. Knepp's morning K-4 class raised the most money during the fundraiser and as a prize the class was rewarded a pajama day and each student got to give the teacher a pie in the face!

Congratulations to the winners of our first annual TRE Library Bookmark Contest! Over 150 students submitted their designs for our contest and they were all so creative. The top three designs will be featured in the Media Center for the entire school year and printed for students. Our winners were Nolan Copleand (1st), Ava Temple (2nd), and Amiyah Espinal (3rd)!
