What is the summer slide?
The summer slide is a common loss of learning that occurs over the summer break. The best way to combat this is to regularly engage in activities that stimulate learning! Be sure to check out our grade level appropriate activities https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1ZfipSVm7K45pv7hN3SyPHIOLNWLctdOE/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=106809859077060898998&rtpof=true&sd=true .

Our office will be open throughout the summer for registration, Monday through Thursdays, from 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM with the exception of June 19th and July 4th.

We have a few copies left of the 23-24 yearbook if you missed the pre-order! If you would like to purchase, please come to the office to purchase and pick up. The yearbook is $25, cash or check!

They serve so many students both in and outside of the building! Please be sure to thank your SLP for their dedication to our students!

Cubes , cylinders , spheres and cones, oh my! Fabian’s Fishies were working hard as mathematicians last week. While studying their unit in 🔵🔸geometry 🔺🟪, they created 3D shape models using Playdough and connecting straws!🚀

Reidville Families:
It is bittersweet to announce our awards day program days and times. This year has flown by and our Rockin' Rockets are soaring ahead! We would like to invite two guests per student for these awards ceremonies as space will be very limited. Thank you for your cooperation and for your participation in celebrating your incredible students. We look forward to seeing you all next week!

Mrs. Hambright's fourth grade class integrated science content, reading skills, and art creativity in a zoo enclosure project. Each student chose an animal to research using print and online sources. To organize the research findings they used graphic organizers following the five text structures. Students then created an informational pamphlet that including their research along with appropriate text features. For the last part of the project students had to apply knowledge of their animals habitat to create a zoo enclosure out of a shoebox, craft materials, and items they collected on a nature walk.

Attention former Reidville students that are graduating this year... we can't wait to celebrate this accomplishment with you on May 21st! 📚Once a rocket, always a rocket!🚀

First grade concluded our compound word unit with a compound word fashion show. 👔 Each child wore as many compound words as they could. We walked the runway and made a list of all the compound words, built compound word puzzles, and enjoyed a compound word snack. 🚀🌎

Yesterday our first graders finished their Fairytale unit by retelling Little Red Riding Hood using table tops as a story board! After drawing the story in order the students retold the story as a group! 🐺

Fabian’s Fishies🐠 spent some of their fun Friday learning about plants 🪴 and their life cycle. Our student scientists learned that seeds need soil, ☀️ sun, and water 💦 to grow. They planted and watered their own seeds and explored lots of new books to research more!
