🚀Mrs. Rudd’s fifth grade students learned how to be eco detectives yesterday. 🔍 They also used their time at Roper Mountain Science Center to learn about conservation! 🌍

Due to a winter storm watch issued by the National Weather Service, all District Five Schools and offices will be closed on Friday, January 10. ❄️ Friday, January 10 will be an e-Learning day for all District Five students. 💻 This decision was made in the best interest of safety for all D5 students and staff, as snow, sleet and ice is predicted by late Friday morning, and roads will likely be unsafe for buses, families or student drivers to travel 🚌❄️🚗
Teachers will be in touch with students regarding all e-Learning assignments 📚📝. All after school and weekend activities are also canceled.📆
We appreciate your patience and understanding, as safety is always our top priority in District Five! #WeAreD5

Mrs. Gray's classes are having fun with a little financial literacy lesson using percents and money. 💰 Students purchased their gingerbread materials, making sure to calculate tax and find the exact total, calculate the area and perimeter of the sides, and build their gingerbread houses. 🌲

This year we are proud to announce our holiday card winners! A winner was selected from each grade level, first through fifth. We are so excited to showcase their artwork on our card. Congratulations Rockets!

Two of our gifted artists from Creations, Lucy and Amadeo, recently had artwork in an art show at the Greer Center for the Arts. Congratulations Rockets!!

Students in Mrs. Gray's classes learned how humans can impact our world. 🌍 First, they used their math skills to cost out the price of building a resort. 🏨 They then created a resort out of recycled materials, created an informational poster on the materials they used including how it impacts earth's spheres and how we can recycle the materials to decrease negative effects. 🚀RVES first and second grade students chose where they would stay as the resort owners calculate their profit or loss. ❤️

Brrrrr it's cold here at Reidville!! ❄️ we started our week with a bit of SNOW much fun! ⛄️
