Elections & Board Districts
Composition of the District Five Schools Board of Trustees
School Board members in District Five are elected to four year terms. Elections are held every other year (odd numbered calendar years) with four seats being contested during one election cycle and five being contested during the following cycle.
Trustees serving on the Board of District Five Schools are elected from three distinct districts. Below are brief descriptions of each district:
District 5-1 is represented by a single trustee who is elected only by the registered voters who live within the 5-1 zone (see map). Voters living in the 5-1 district may vote for candidates running for the 5-1 seat.
District 5-2 is represented by two trustees who are elected only by the registered voters who live within the 5-2 zone (see map ). Voters living in the 5-2 district may vote for candidates running for the 5-2 seat.
District 5-3 is represented by six trustees who are elected by the registered voters in District Five, living everywhere except the 5-1 and 5-2 districts (see map). Voters living in the 5-3 district may vote for candidates running for the 5-3 seats.
