Department Overview

The Spartanburg District Five Finance Office provides support to our schools and district personnel so they can focus on our District’s mission to prepare students to thrive in a global society by providing exceptional educational experiences in a safe, caring and inclusive environment.  

The Finance Office manages the fiscal affairs of the District including, but not limited to: accounting, budgeting, cash management, audit management, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, inventory and asset management, filing state and federal reimbursement claims, and workers’ compensation.

All accounting is in compliance with applicable State Department of Education regulations, state statutes, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The District is audited annually by external auditors and periodically by State and Federal program auditors.
