Spartanburg District Five Schools has announced its 2025-26 Limited School Choice application window, giving families the opportunity to apply for enrollment in a school outside their home attendance zone.

The application period for Limited School Choice will run from Monday, January 13, 2025, to Friday, February 21, 2025. This program allows families to request a different school for specific needs. Requests are approved based on the reason for the request and the enrollment capacity of the requested school.

Out-of-District requests will also be accepted starting Monday, January 20, 2025, and will close on Friday, February 21, 2025. Families applying for Out-of-District placement must pay tuition and provide a release from their home school district.

How to Apply

Limited School Choice and Out-of-District applications are accessible exclusively online through the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
Follow these steps to submit your application:

  1. Log in to your PowerSchool Parent Portal account.

  2. Navigate to the "Forms" section.

  3. Select the Limited School Choice Application or Out-of-District Request Form, and follow the instructions provided.

If you do not have a PowerSchool Parent Portal account, contact your child’s school for assistance in setting one up.

Key Information for Families:

  • All students, whether new to the process or continuing, must submit a new application for the 2025-26 school year.

  • Out-of-District students must also provide a district release, which can be emailed to Saterria Broomfield at the District Five office.

All applications for Limited School Choice and Out-of-District placement must be submitted by the end of the day on February 21, 2025. No late applications will be accepted. Families will receive a written response by mail before Spring Break.
